Privacy

#BBB is a map of Brighton & Hove pubs and what's on in them. We collect as little as possible. Here's exactly what happens to your information.

Who we are

Beautifully Brightonian Boozers (#BBB) runs this site and app. Questions or requests about your data: email Beautifullybrightonianboozers@outlook.com or message us on Instagram at @beautifullybrightonianboozers.

Your pub visits and notes

• When you tick off a pub or write notes, they're saved only on your own phone or computer, in your browser's storage. They are never sent to us and we can't see them.
• If you use Back up my visits, the file is created on your device and goes wherever you choose to save or send it.
• Clearing your browser's data, or deleting the app, deletes your visits. Keep a backup if you want them safe.

Your location

We only ask for your location when you tap Near me. It's used on your device to centre the map and list the closest pubs. It isn't sent to us or stored. You can turn it off any time in your phone's settings.

Maps and pub photos

• Map images come from OpenStreetMap and Esri, and pub photos come from Google Street View. To show them, your device requests them directly from those companies, which means they receive your IP address and the area of the map you're looking at, as with any website.
• See Google's privacy policy, OpenStreetMap's privacy policy and Esri's privacy policy.

If you send us a pub event

• We collect what you type in the form: your name, role, email, optional phone and Instagram handle, and the event details.
• We use your contact details only to check the event is genuine and to contact you about it. They are never shown on the site.
• The event details (pub, title, date, time, description, link) are published on the map and may be shared on our Instagram, as you agree when you send the form.
• Submissions are stored by our hosting provider, Netlify. We delete contact details within 12 months of the event, or sooner if you ask.
• Our lawful basis is your consent when you send the form, and our legitimate interest in listing genuine pub events.

If you contact us

If you email or message us, we use your details only to reply to you, and delete them within 12 months.

What we don't do

• No adverts, no tracking cookies, no analytics, and we never sell or share your data.
• No accounts: you don't need to sign up to use #BBB.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability. See Netlify's privacy policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you. Email us or message us on Instagram. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Drink responsibly

#BBB is meant for adults aged 18 and over. Please drink responsibly. For advice and support, visit drinkaware.co.uk.
